Frequently asked questions
Updated 28 October 2026
The short version of how the wheel works and what happens to your data. If your question is not here, write to us — the address is at the bottom of the page.
Is the wheel fair?
Yes. The winner is determined by the position of the wheel when it stops,
and the spin is driven by the browser's cryptographic random number
generator (crypto.getRandomValues). The result cannot be
predicted in advance, and the site does not learn or store it.
Do I need an account?
No. No account, no sign-in, no email confirmation. Open the page and spin.
Where is my list of options stored?
Only in your browser, in localStorage. It is never sent to a
server: the site has no backend that could accept it.
Why did my options disappear?
The list is deleted together with the site data: after clearing history, in private mode, or when the browser cleans up storage on its own. It cannot be recovered — you have to enter it again. That is the trade-off for keeping your data off any server.
How many options can I add?
Technically up to 24. In practice 4 to 8: with more, the slices get thin and the labels become unreadable on a phone.
Does the wheel work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. Fonts and scripts are served from the same domain, so there are no external requests. You can even save the page and open it locally.
Can I spin again if I do not like the result?
Technically yes — the button is not going anywhere. In spirit, that is no longer a draw but picking the answer you prefer. Agree on the rule in advance: one spin, one result.
How do I open a ready-made set?
On the Presets page pick a set — the wheel opens with that list filled in. Your previous options are not erased until you start editing the list.
Can I embed the wheel on my own site?
There is no embed code. But you can put a plain link to Wheel Decide on your page — it opens in a new tab and works as usual.
Do you collect visitor data?
The site sets no cookies of its own and never receives your list of options. When advertising is enabled, a third-party ad network may set its own cookies — this is described in the privacy policy.
